• Ministry to announce first baby of the yearThe National Council of Women Societies (NCWS) yesterday asked the government at all levels to ensure a transformative agenda for women in 2020 to realise the gains of gender equality. She said 2020 would be a historic year for women and the time to call for transformative agenda for women in 2020 is now. “At NCWS, we believe that asserting the centrality of investments in women and girls is critical for the health of the country. She noted that most significant progress had been made in the struggle for women’s advancement since the Beijing Conference in 1995. Meanwhile, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs has said the Federal Government had made plans to seek out and announce the first baby of the year today.
